Rapper Offset was hospitalized after being shot on Monday evening (6) near a casino in Florida. According to his representative, the artist is currently in stable condition following the incident. Offset, whose real name is Kiari Kendrell Cephus, was previously married to Cardi B, with whom he shares three children. He is also known as a member of the popular rap group Migos, which gained major success over the past decade.
The Seminole Police Department confirmed that a shooting took place shortly after 7 pm in the valet area outside the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Hollywood in Hollywood, Florida.
Authorities stated that two individuals were detained and that one person sustained injuries that were not considered life-threatening. The police did not officially identify the victim or those detained. The injured individual was taken to Memorial Regional Hospital for treatment. The officials added that the area has been secured and there is no ongoing threat to the public, with normal operations continuing at the location.
Offset rose to fame as part of Migos, alongside Quavo and Takeoff. The group gained recognition with their 2013 hit “Versace” and later received Grammy nominations for their 2018 album Culture, including a nod for best rap performance.
Migos disbanded after Takeoff was fatally shot in November 2022 following an argument at a private party in Houston. The loss deeply impacted the group and its members.
In the years since, Quavo, who is Takeoff’s uncle, has been involved in efforts to address gun violence. He partnered with the Community Justice Action Fund to engage with lawmakers in Washington, DC, and co-hosted a summit on the issue in 2024 with then former vice president Kamala Harris.
