Months of uncertainty have finally given way to action, as the makers of They Call Him OG resumed shooting on Tuesday (12) in Tadepalli, Andhra Pradesh. Directed by Sujeeth and produced by DVV Entertainment, the film is among the most awaited Telugu action thrillers of 2025. The return to sets signals renewed momentum for the film, which had seen multiple delays owing to its lead star Pawan Kalyan’s political commitments.
Pawan Kalyan, who currently serves as the Deputy Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh, recently completed the final schedule of his period action film Hari Hara Veera Mallu. With just two days of filming left for that project, the actor wrapped it up last week. This move has now cleared the path for him to return to the sets of They Call Him OG in the coming days.
Announcing the resumption of the shoot, the film’s production team shared a behind-the-scenes image with a spirited caption in Telugu: “Malli Modhalaindi Eesari Mugiddaaam,” which translates to “We’ve started again, and this time we’ll finish it.” The post generated a wave of excitement among fans eagerly waiting for updates on the film.

Originally announced in December 2022, They Call Him OG had an impactful teaser titled Hungry Cheetah, which dropped on September 3, 2023. The teaser received a thunderous response and hinted at the film’s gritty narrative and intense action sequences. However, progress came to a standstill for several months as Kalyan was caught up with his political agenda.
Adding to the excitement is the film’s music, helmed by celebrated composer Thaman. In a recent interview with anchor Suma, Thaman revealed that the first single, titled FireStorm, has already been recorded. Lending his voice to the high-energy track is Tamil actor and singer Silambarasan TR, popularly known as Simbu. Thaman confirmed that the single will be released around the same time Pawan Kalyan rejoins the shoot.
Alongside Kalyan, the film features a robust star cast, including Priyanka Arul Mohan as the female lead, Bollywood actor Emraan Hashmi, Arjun Das, Sriya Reddy, and veteran actor Prakash Raj. With such names on board, They Call Him OG promises a high-octane cinematic experience packed with emotion, grit, and grandeur.
As production gains pace in Andhra Pradesh, fans of Pawan Kalyan and Telugu cinema alike are hopeful that the long wait for They Call Him OG will finally end with a spectacular release in the months to come.
