Romantic comedy with a cultural twist
The makers of Param Sundari have released the film’s official trailer following the launch of two songs from its soundtrack, Pardesiya and Bheegi Saree.
Sidharth Malhotra stars as Param Sachdev, a man from Delhi who travels to Kerala and meets Sundari, played by Janhvi Kapoor, on his first day there. Sundari is a local dancer, and the trailer shows the pair’s flirtatious exchanges, peppered with film references, as their relationship develops.

In the trailer’s closing moments, she delivers a strongly worded speech criticising Param and his friend as “arrogant, entitled and prejudiced North Indians”, before listing prominent South Indian stars including Rajinikanth (Tamil Nadu), Mohanlal (Kerala), Allu Arjun (Andhra Pradesh) and Yash (Karnataka).

Early reactions to the trailer have been largely positive. Viewers praised Janhvi Kapoor’s closing dialogue and expressed excitement for a return to the traditional Bollywood romantic comedy style.
