Highlights:

  • Dhurandhar crosses $120 million at the Indian box office
  • First Hindi-only Indian film to achieve this milestone
  • Holds strong in its eighth week despite new competition
  • Netflix digital release scheduled for January 30
  • Sequel Dhurandhar: The Revenge set for March 2026

Dhurandhar, starring Ranveer Singh in the lead role, has officially etched its name into Indian box office history. According to the latest trade reports, the film has crossed a massive milestone by earning over ₹1,000 crore, approximately $120 million, at the Indian box office within 53 days of its release.

The film, which is now in its eighth week in theaters, continues to show strong staying power. Box office estimates from Sacnilk indicate that Dhurandhar earned more than ₹1 crore (around $120,000) over the recent weekend alone. This performance came despite stiff competition from the newly released war drama Border 2, which posted an impressive opening weekend collection of about ₹177 crore, or roughly $21 million, during the Republic Day holiday period.

With this achievement, Dhurandhar has reportedly become the first Indian film ever to cross the $120 million net mark with a release in only one language—Hindi. Earlier blockbusters such as Baahubali 2: The Conclusion, KGF: Chapter 2, and Pushpa 2: The Rule also crossed similar milestones, but they benefited from multi-language releases across several regions.

Released theatrically on December 5, Dhurandhar enjoyed a strong opening and maintained momentum through positive word of mouth and repeat audiences. The film’s sustained box office run has surprised industry observers, especially in an era where theatrical collections often drop sharply after the first few weeks.

With the box office success now firmly established, the makers are preparing for the film’s digital rollout. Dhurandhar is set to make its streaming debut on Netflix on Friday, January 30, expanding its reach to global audiences. The digital release comes just ahead of the arrival of its highly anticipated sequel.

Meanwhile, work is progressing rapidly on Dhurandhar 2, officially titled Dhurandhar: The Revenge. The sequel is scheduled for a grand theatrical release on March 19, 2026. According to recent reports, the film has already received certification from India’s Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) for multiple teaser versions.

Teaser 1A has been approved with a U/A 16+ rating and runs for 1 minute and 9.6 seconds. Two other versions—Teaser 2 and Teaser 2A—have both been given an Adults Only (A) rating, with runtimes of 1 minute 48 seconds and 1 minute 9.6 seconds, respectively. These different teaser cuts are designed for release across various platforms.

With a record-breaking theatrical run, a major streaming debut, and a sequel already lined up, Dhurandhar has firmly established itself as one of the biggest Indian film successes in recent years.
