Bollywood actor Salman Khan has a playful message for anyone who does not like his latest patriotic song: take it up with music composer Himesh Reshammiya and singer Stebin Ben. The actor’s cheeky Instagram caption has grabbed attention as he unveiled Jai Hind, a new track from his upcoming war drama Maatrubhumi: May War Rest in Peace.

Sharing the lyrical version of the song on Tuesday (20), coinciding with Dussehra, Salman paired a message about patriotism with his trademark humor, suggesting that listeners who dislike the track can direct their complaints elsewhere.

“2 days out of 365 days to show yr love, respect and patriotism for your mother land is not enough. Saal bhar hona mangta hai boss,” he wrote.

He then added the line that stood out in the caption: “Hope u like it n if u don’t then Himesh n Stebin ka insta ya X handle toh hoga he na.”

The remark quickly gave the song’s launch a lighthearted twist, putting the spotlight on Salman’s banter with his collaborators even as the track celebrates Indian soldiers and their sacrifices.

Salman Khan’s patriotic message meets his trademark humor

The actor’s caption began with a broader message about patriotism, arguing that love and respect for the country should not be limited to just two days of the year.

The song, Jai Hind, features Salman in an Army uniform, leading fellow officers. The video also offers glimpses of his on-screen family, including his wife, played by Chitrangada Singh, and their twin sons.

The visuals highlight the personal sacrifices and family responsibilities that accompany a soldier’s life, alongside the film’s patriotic themes.

Stebin Ben has sung the track, with Himesh Reshammiya composing the music and Sameer Anjaan writing the lyrics. Salman and Reshammiya have previously collaborated on films including Tere Naam and Maine Pyaar Kyun Kiya.

What is Maatrubhumi about?

Directed by Apoorva Lakhia and written by Chintan Gandhi, Maatrubhumi: May War Rest in Peace is produced by Salman Khan Films. The project was earlier titled Battle of Galwan and is reportedly based on the 2020 clash between Indian and Chinese troops in the Galwan Valley.

Salman plays an Army officer, while Chitrangada Singh portrays his wife. The film focuses on soldiers involved in the conflict and the challenges they faced.

Reports suggest the project underwent changes and reshoots following concerns about its original portrayal of China. The film has reportedly received a No Objection Certificate from the Information and Broadcasting Ministry, while its Central Board of Film Certification clearance remains pending.

Fans want a release date

While Salman’s caption and the new song have drawn attention, fans are also asking when Maatrubhumi will arrive in theaters.

November 13 has reportedly been considered as a possible release date, but the makers have yet to confirm it.

For now, the song has offered audiences a glimpse of Salman’s patriotic role—and a reminder that, when it comes to promoting his music, the actor is just as ready with a joke as he is with a serious message.
