Rajinikanth’s upcoming film Jailer 2 is already creating massive buzz, and actor Mithun Chakraborty has now added to the excitement by revealing a major surprise. In a recent interview, Mithun hinted that Shah Rukh Khan will be part of the film, marking what could be the first time the two legendary actors share screen space together.
While speaking to Siti Cinema about his long career, Mithun was asked whether he prefers a specific genre, such as family dramas, action films, or thrillers. Responding to the question, Mithun said that actors cannot choose genres so easily and then casually mentioned his next project, Jailer 2. What followed caught everyone’s attention.
Mithun said, “My next is Jailer 2, where everybody is against me.” He then went on to list the cast, saying, “Rajinikanth, Mohanlal, Shah Rukh Khan, Ramya Krishnan, Shiva Rajkumar—everyone’s character is against me.” With this statement, Mithun not only appeared to confirm Shah Rukh Khan’s involvement but also hinted that he himself might be playing the antagonist in the film.
Although the makers of Jailer 2 have not officially announced Shah Rukh Khan’s role, Mithun’s words strongly suggest that the Bollywood superstar will make a cameo appearance. If this turns out to be true, the film will bring together two of the biggest stars in Indian cinema—Rajinikanth and Shah Rukh Khan—for the first time.
There has been some confusion among fans due to past films. In the 2011 movie Ra.One, Rajinikanth’s popular character Chitti from Enthiran appeared, leading many to believe the actor had shared screen space with Shah Rukh Khan. However, actor Suresh Menon later clarified that Rajinikanth did not personally appear in the film due to health reasons at the time.
Similarly, in Chennai Express (2013), Shah Rukh Khan paid tribute to Rajinikanth through the hit song “Lungi Dance.” While the song celebrated Rajinikanth’s influence, the two stars did not actually appear together on screen. This makes Jailer 2 especially important, as it could finally bring them together in the same film.
The first Jailer, released in 2023, was a huge success. It starred Rajinikanth alongside Ramya Krishnan, Vinayakan, Tamannaah Bhatia, Sunil, Vasanth Ravi, Yogi Babu, and Mirnaa. The film also featured memorable cameo appearances by Mohanlal, Shiva Rajkumar, and Jackie Shroff, which were widely praised by fans.
In Jailer 2, Mohanlal and Shiva Rajkumar are expected to return in their roles, along with Rajinikanth and Ramya Krishnan. With the possible addition of Shah Rukh Khan and Mithun Chakraborty in a major role, the sequel is shaping up to be a true pan-Indian spectacle.
As fans eagerly wait for official confirmation, Mithun’s comments have already set expectations high, making Jailer 2 one of the most anticipated films in the coming years.
