Dylan Dreyer, beloved meteorologist and co-host of NBC’s "Today" show, has revealed her separation from her husband, longtime NBC cameraman and producer Brian Fichera, after 12 years of marriage. Dreyer, 43, shared the news with her followers on Instagram on Friday, July 18, stating that the couple had quietly separated a few months ago but remain committed to co-parenting their three young sons: Calvin, 8, Oliver, 5, and Rusty, 3.
Dreyer addressed her audience with heartfelt gratitude for their ongoing support through her family’s ups and downs over the years. “For many years, I have shared my family with you all—the highs and lows, the ups and downs, and all of the blessings and beautiful memories in between. I am incredibly grateful for the support and love you’ve given me through it all. For that reason, I want to share with you that a few months ago, Brian and I made the decision to separate,” she wrote.
The separation, she clarified, is amicable. Dreyer emphasized that the two remain the closest of friends and will continue to jointly raise their sons with “nothing but love and respect for one another”. The couple’s friendship and shared family moments were still on display during recent public outings, including attending the Fourth of July fireworks and a golf tournament together.
Both Dreyer and Fichera, who met in 2012 while working at Boston’s WHDH-TV, continue their careers at NBC. Fichera, who works as a producer and cameraman, is reportedly taking a temporary step back from work to focus on family matters. Dreyer, meanwhile, continues to co-anchor “Today” and hosts other NBC segments.
Colleagues have not commented publicly on the split, but fans have responded with messages of support for the couple’s handling of the situation and their commitment to prioritizing their family.
