Ranveer Singh is set to return as Hamza in one the most eagerly awaited sequels in recent years, Dhurandhar 2. The first installment won over audiences with its gripping storyline, memorable music, powerful performances. The film featured an ensemble cast including Akshaye Khanna, R. Madhavan, Arjun Rampal, Sanjay Dutt, and others, all of whom received widespead praise from fans and celebrities alike.
Now, fresh reports suggest that actor Yami Gautam is set to make a special cameo appearance in the upcoming sequel. While an official announcement has yet to be made, the news has already generated significant buzz across social media platforms.
According to sources quoted by Pinkvilla, Yami Gautam’s role, though brief, plays a vital part in the narrative. “Yami’s role is action-packed and extremely crucial to the story. She has already shot for nearly five days, and while it is a cameo, it is an important part that will leave audiences amazed,” the source revealed. Gautam is known for her intense performances in thrillers such as A Thursday, Dasvi, Article 370, and Haq, where she has consistently impressed viewers with her screen presence.
Following the massive success of Dhurandhar, fans have been eagerly awaiting its sequel, officially titled Dhurandhar: The Revenge. On Tuesday (3), Ranveer Singh shared the first teaser of the film on Instagram, instantly sending excitement levels soaring. The teaser shows glimpses of Singh’s character Hamza as he takes on India’s enemies in Pakistan. In a powerful dialogue, he declares, “Yeh naya Hindustan hai. Yeh ghar mein ghusega bhi aur maarega bhi,” reinforcing the film’s intense and patriotic tone. The teaser also features brief appearances by Arjun Rampal, R. Madhavan, and Sanjay Dutt.
Earlier, Singh also unveiled the first poster and title of the sequel on social media. The striking visual shows him standing at the center in a black trench coat, hair left loose, against a fiery red backdrop. His dramatically transformed look signals higher stakes, fiercer action, and a darker, more ruthless chapter compared to the first film.
Dhurandhar 2 is directed by Aditya Dhar and is scheduled to hit theaters on March 19, 2026. Last month, the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) cleared the film’s first promotional teaser, granting it an A (Adults Only) certificate. The teaser runs for 1 minute and 48 seconds, hinting at a gritty and intense action-thriller experience.
At the box office, Dhurandhar 2 will face stiff competition, as it releases on the same day as Yash’s highly anticipated Toxic: A Fairy Tale for Grown-Ups, as well as Dacoit, starring Adivi Sesh and Mrunal Thakur.
Yami Gautam was last seen in the courtroom drama Haq, alongside Emraan Hashmi. Her performance received widespread acclaim, with many praising her portrayal of a woman fighting for justice after being wronged in her marriage. With her reported cameo in Dhurandhar 2, audiences can now look forward to another impactful appearance from the actor in what promises to be a high-octane cinematic spectacle.
