Twelve-year-old yoga prodigy Ishwar Sharma has won three gold medals at the fifth Yoga World Cup & Festival held in Canada in February. He represented the UK at the event which was organised by the yoga ministry of Canada.

The Yoga World Cup is a prestigious event that brings together the world’s most talented and skilled yoga practitioners. This year, too, it was no exception.

Ishwar clinched the gold medals in individual yogasona – traditional, artistic yogo solo and artistic yoga pair categories.

The boy from Sevenoaks, Kent, has won five world championships before and last year, received the Point of Light Award from former prime minister Boris Johnson for his contributions to yoga. He has also won the British Citizen Youth Award at the House of Lords.

Ishwar, who wants to take up yoga as his profession, is passionate about spreading the message of yoga especially for children with special needs.
