Viral clip sparks outrage
A video from Madhuri Dixit’s recent Canada tour has gone viral, prompting backlash against the event organizers. The clip, recorded by audience members, shows the actor on stage but the online discussion has focused on claims that she arrived almost three hours late rather than on her performance. The video featured text reading, “If I could give you one piece of advice, it’s to not attend the Madhuri Dixit tour… save your money.” Following its circulation, social media users described the event as “chaotic,” “poorly organized,” and “a waste of time.”
Audience complaints over delay and format
Several attendees alleged that their tickets mentioned a 7:30 p.m. start, but the show reportedly began close to 10 p.m. “This was the worst show ever,” one viewer wrote. “So many people walked out. People were yelling for refunds.” Another remarked, “Three hours late and then full of lame talks.”
Some audience members also claimed the format did not match expectations, with one stating the advertisements did not indicate the show would include brief dance snippets mixed with conversation. A frustrated attendee shared, “I left at 11:05 p.m. as I had work the next day. It just started way too late and disrespected the audience’s time.”
Calls for consumer complaints
Amid the backlash, a few users urged others to file complaints with Consumer Protection Ontario, alleging “misrepresentation” in the promotion of the show. Despite the criticism, several fans defended the actor, arguing that delays could be attributed to production challenges rather than Dixit herself.
“She seems to be performing as graciously as always,” one supporter wrote, suggesting the issue may have stemmed from management. Another fan added, “Real fans would appreciate any glimpse of her. It’s not her fault if it was not organized correctly.” Dixit was last seen in Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3, starring alongside Vidya Balan and Kartik Aaryan.
