Manchester United to face Arsenal on Premier League 2025-26 opening weekend

The Premier League 2025-26 kicks off August 15 with Liverpool vs Bournemouth, while Manchester United host Arsenal in a headline clash. The season opener schedule also includes away games for Man City and Tottenham.

The 2025-26 Premier League season kicks off on Friday, August 15, with champions Liverpool hosting Bournemouth at Anfield. Liverpool will begin their title defense under manager Arne Slot, starting with this home fixture before facing Newcastle and Arsenal later in August.

One of the standout matches on the opening weekend will be on Sunday, August 17, when Manchester United host Arsenal at Old Trafford in a 4:30 pm BST kickoff. This high-profile clash is expected to set the tone for the season, featuring two of England’s biggest clubs.

Manchester City, aiming for a seventh Premier League title under Pep Guardiola, start their campaign with an away trip to Wolverhampton Wanderers on August 16. Arsenal, who finished second last season for the third consecutive year, face a challenging start with matches against Manchester United, Liverpool, Manchester City, and Newcastle among their opening six fixtures.

Tottenham Hotspur, now managed by Thomas Frank, will play their first Premier League game at home against promoted Burnley on August 16, shortly after Frank’s competitive debut in the UEFA Super Cup against Paris Saint-Germain.

Sunderland return to the Premier League for the first time since the 2016-17 season, hosting West Ham United on the opening weekend. Leeds United, back in the top flight after two years, will host Everton on Monday, August 18.

Everton will also play their first match at their new 53,000-capacity Bramley-Moore Dock stadium on August 23 against Brighton.

The season will run through to May 24, 2026, with all 380 fixtures already announced. Fans can expect an exciting campaign filled with fierce rivalries, new stadium atmospheres, and a competitive title race.
