THE HIGHLY anticipated sequel, “Pushpa: The Rule - Part 2”, has already garnered ₹319.1 million (£2.96m) in bookings ahead of its December 5 release.
The gross includes ₹225.6 million (£2.10m) across all languages and formats and ₹93.5 million (£863,791.91) from block seat sales, according to the latest data.
The film, featuring Allu Arjun as Pushpa Raj, has sold 692,507 tickets so far, indicating strong interest across the country. Bookings from smaller regions such as Arunachal Pradesh, Meghalaya, and Andaman and Nicobar Islands further highlight its widespread appeal.
Produced by Mythri Movie Makers and directed by Sukumar, the sequel continues the story of Pushpa Raj, a labourer-turned-sandalwood smuggler, first introduced in the “2021 hit Pushpa: The Rise”. The film has received a U/A certification from the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC).
The trailer, launched on November 17 at Gandhi Maidan in Patna, set the stage for the sequel, which also stars Rashmika Mandanna as Srivalli and Fahadh Faasil as SP Bhanwar Singh Shekhawat.
Mandanna, speaking at the closing event of the 55th International Film Festival of India (IFFI) in Goa, described the film as a blend of action and emotional drama.
“You might be thinking that Pushpa 2 will be solely an action-driven cinema, but it is extremely emotional. There is a family angle to it,” she said.
