A career spanning consumer brands and digital platforms
Balasubramanian joined Myntra as CMO in November 2022, following a stint at South Korean ecommerce company Coupang.
He was based in Seoul as Coupang's head of international marketing from June 2021 to November 2022.
Before that, he spent more than two years at Disney+ Hotstar, where he was head of marketing from February 2019 to April 2021.
A significant part of his career was spent at Colgate-Palmolive, where he held a series of roles spanning sales, shopper development and marketing over more than 13 years.
He joined the company in 2005 as a district manager and later worked as a direct trade manager and shopper development manager.
He moved into brand management in 2010 before taking on marketing management responsibilities. His later roles included head of toothbrush, mouthwash and personal care marketing, followed by category head for toothpaste marketing, a position he held until January 2019.
Balasubramanian began his career in advertising, working as an account executive at Goldwire Communications between 2000 and 2001 before joining McCann Worldgroup as a senior account executive.
His departure leaves Myntra without its CMO, while Balasubramanian's next role remains undisclosed.
