INDIA will on Friday (5) take on Scotland in a crucial Group 2 fixture in T20 World Cup 2021 in Dubai International Cricket Stadium in the United Arab Emirates.
Virat Kohli’s men made a major comeback into the tournament on Tuesday (3) when they thrashed Afghanistan by 66 runs after producing a power-backed performance with the bat to pick their first points in the tournament. India are still uncertain to make the semi-finals from the group after losing their first two matches against Pakistan and New Zealand.

“The discussion we need to have is how we’re going to go about the couple of games we have left, and everyone’s planning and wanting to go (out) on a real high for the last two games. That is stuff that’s not in our control. It’s fingers crossed,” he said.

“It’s a funny game, and Afghanistan have played good cricket. A lot of our hopes rest with them as well. All the very best to them,” Ashwin, who had a good outing against Afghanistan with two wickets.
Pakistan are the only team which has qualified for the semi-finals from the group. For the other berth, the competition is between New Zealand (four points from three games), Afghanistan (four points from four games) and India (two points from three games).
In another game of the day, New Zealand will play Namibia who also have one win from three matches but are placed below India due to an inferior net run-rate.
Scotland have lost all their three games played so far.
