Highlights
- Rumors claimed Vicky Kaushal would reprise his Uri role in Dhurandhar 2
- A source close to director Aditya Dhar has denied the story
- The talk has been dismissed as fan-driven speculation
Talk of a crossover between Uri: The Surgical Strike and Dhurandhar 2 has been shut down.
Reports had suggested that Vicky Kaushal would return as his popular Uri character in the sequel to Dhurandhar, also directed by Aditya Dhar. But those claims have now been firmly denied by someone close to the filmmaker.
Rumor gains traction online
The story began circulating after social media chatter claimed Dhar was planning to bring Kaushal’s army officer from Uri into the world of Dhurandhar 2. The idea quickly spread, helped by the fact that both films are directed by Dhar and deal with national security and military themes.
Fans took the rumor as a sign of a shared universe, even though no official announcement had been made.
Source close to director denies claim
When the claim was checked with a source closely associated with Aditya Dhar, the answer was clear.
“Vicky Kaushal and Uri are no part of Dhurandhar. I don’t know where that comes from,” the source said. “We understand the curiosity and excitement for the second part. One can treat these as fan-generated rumors and speculation. But we can’t have the media reporting such outrageous assumptions as news.”
The statement makes it clear that no crossover has been planned and that Kaushal’s character will not appear in Dhurandhar 2.
Fan hype vs. film reality
The rumor highlights how quickly fan theories can turn into “news” online, especially when a director is known for strong, connected storytelling. Dhar’s success with both Uri and Dhurandhar has made audiences eager to imagine links between his films.
But for now, the sequel to Dhurandhar is moving forward without any connection to Uri or Kaushal’s character.
