BOLLYWOOD superstar Aamir Khan expressed his concerns about his son Junaid Khan’s debut film, “Maharaj,” during a recent event.

Speaking at the launch of the single “Kooriye,” performed by debutant Raj Pandit, Aamir shared his feelings about the pressure surrounding the film’s reception.

“When Junaid’s ‘Maharaj’ was released, I was very stressed thinking if people would like his work or not. I think that is what you (Ashoke Pandit) are probably feeling right now as Raj is taking his first steps. Just a couple of months back, I was in that situation,” he told reporters.

“Maharaj,” a Netflix film directed by Siddharth P Malhotra and produced by Aditya Chopra, premiered on June 21.

The film, featuring Junaid in the role of the 19th-century social reformer Karsandas Mulji, briefly faced legal issues when a Vaishnavite religious group filed a petition against it in the Gujarat High Court. The court later cleared its release, stating that it did not target any religion.

Aamir also expressed pride in Junaid for achieving success on his own.

“I am happy and proud that he has made it on his own terms, in his own way,” Aamir said.

He compared this experience to Raj Pandit’s debut, noting, “I can see that Raj is doing the same thing. It is time to take your first step and you have and it is wonderful.”

In addition, Aamir mentioned his new interest in singing, revealing that he started taking lessons a year ago.

“I have got a guru, Sucheta ji is my guru and I’ve been training since last one year. I enjoy singing. It’s like meditation,” he said.

The music video for “Kooriye” features Raj Pandit and Zoya Afroz and is produced by Salim Merchant, Sulaiman Merchant, and Ashoke Pandit.
