RAJASTHAN ROYALS, who won the inaugural edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL) in 2008 under the captaincy of late Australian spinner Shane Warne but could not replicate the same again, saw one of their prime bowlers Adam Zampa pulling out of the tournament due to some personal reasons and was replaced by Indian Tanush Kotian.
Zampa, a leg-spinner, had been retained by the Royals ahead of the mini auction last December but has now withdrawn citing personal reasons. He made his debut in the T20 tournament in 2016 and has taken 29 wickets in 20 outings at an average of below 20.
The 25-year-old Kotian, who is a spinner-all-rounder and recently played a key role in his home side Mumbai lifting their 42nd Ranji Trophy, India’s domestic tournament, joined RR at his base price of Rs 20 lakh (£18,998). He has represented Mumbai in 26 first-class games, 19 List A matches and 23 T20s.

Royals will play Lucknow Super Giants in their first match of the tournament at Sawai Mansingh Stadium in Jaipur, Rajasthan, on Sunday (24).
Meanwhile, Gujarat Titans, who won the crown in their debut season 2022, brought in wicketkeeper-batter BR Sharath to replace Robin Minz, who was injured in a motorcycle accident. He joined GT for his base price of Rs 20 lakh.

Sharath plays for the southern state of Karnataka in domestic cricket and has played in 20 first-class, 43 List A and 28 T20s so far.
