Production is expected to begin in 2027. HBO Max has not announced a release date or confirmed whether the series will adapt China Rich Girlfriend and Rich People Problems, the two novels that follow Kevin Kwan’s original book.

The 2018 film, starring Wu as Rachel Chu and Golding as Nick Young, became a major box-office success, earning more than $230 million worldwide. It also drew attention for its predominantly Asian cast, marking a significant moment for Asian representation in a major Hollywood production.
