  • Old Revolver Rani rumor resurfaces after podcast clip goes viral
  • Kangana Ranaut lashes out at the allegation on social media
  • Vir Das calls the story "pure fiction" and defends Kangana
  • The claim originated from journalist Simi Chandoke's podcast appearance
  • Viral controversy reignites debate over celebrity misinformation

More than a decade after Revolver Rani hit theaters, Kangana Ranaut found herself at the center of an old controversy that refused to disappear. A viral social media discussion revived claims that she injured co-star Vir Das while filming a kissing scene in the 2014 movie. But this time, both actors have publicly dismissed the allegation.

The controversy gained fresh momentum after journalist Simi Chandoke appeared on Siddharth Kannan's podcast. During the interview, she claimed that while filming an intimate scene, Kangana became so immersed in the performance that she continued kissing Vir Das even after the director had called cut.

According to Chandoke, the incident left the comedian with a bleeding lip. She said, "Vir Das ko apne podcast pe laayi. Shayad woh ro padega, thinking of that traumatic time he went through. When she was shooting for Revolver Rani, the scene required her to kiss him deeply. Woh bhul gayi. Scene khatam ho gaya, continued... Bichare ka lip kaatke khoon-khoon kar diya usko."

The comments quickly spread across social media, with users questioning why Vir Das had never spoken publicly about the alleged incident. Several users tagged the comedian on X, asking him to respond.

Vir Das did exactly that.

Rejecting the claim outright, he wrote, "Right. Just so we are clear. This story is pure fiction. Kangana was a complete professional and I still maintain, a truly gifted artist. This is unfair slander to her. She went on to call me a terrorist a few years later for my comedy but on set…no problems at all."

His response surprised many because the two have publicly disagreed on political issues in recent years. Despite those differences, Vir defended Kangana's professionalism and dismissed the allegation as entirely false.

Kangana also reacted strongly after Vir's statement. Thanking him for setting the record straight, she directed her frustration toward the person who had revived the story.

"Thanks Vir but who is she? Ewww seems like some weirdo using us to satisfy her demonic sex fantasies, I am eating your blood and you are traumatised and crying even today after a decade. How random," she wrote on social media.

The controversy was not entirely new. Similar claims circulated online in 2023, prompting Kangana to mock the rumor at the time. She had posted, "After Hrithik Roshan, did I violate poor Vir Das's honour? When did this happen?" accompanied by laughing emojis.

The latest episode highlights how quickly old celebrity rumors can return to public attention, especially when amplified through podcasts and social media. Although the original allegation generated widespread discussion, the responses from both Kangana Ranaut and Vir Das tell a different story.

Rather than confirming the rumor, both actors have publicly rejected it. Vir Das described it as "pure fiction," while Kangana condemned what she viewed as sensationalism built around an incident that, according to both of them, never happened.
