The BIG FINAL: Here’s India-Australia head-to-head record in World Cups

India beat Australia at the same venue, then called Sardar Patel Stadium, in the quarterfinal of the 2011 edition which they won.

INDIA and Australia will play each other in the final of the ICC Men’s World Cup 2023 at Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad in the western Indian state of Gujarat on Sunday (19).

It will be the second time that the two powerhouses will lock horns in the title clash of the 50-over World Cup. They had met in the final of the 2003 edition in Johannesburg in South Africa when the Kangaroos had outplayed the Men in Blue, defeating them by 125 runs.

The two teams have met 13 times in the one-day World Cup with Australia leading 8-5. In this World Cup, however, India had the last laugh when they won by six wickets a MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai with KL Rahul hitting an unbeaten 97 and Virat Kohli 85.

The two teams have overall played each other 150 times with Australia leading 83-57 with 10 games remaining inconclusive.
