THE Indian women’s and mixed compound teams have won more than one silver medals at the ongoing Archery World Championships in Yankton, South Dakota, the US.
The women’s team comprising Jyothi, Muskan Kirar and Priya Gurjar lost to Colombia’s Sara Lopez, Alejandro Usquiano and Nora Valdez 224-229 to miss the top medal.
In the mixed event too, India’s Abhishek Verma and Jyothi Surekha Vennam lost to Colombian opponents 145-150 in the summit clash.
India remain in the hunt for three medals in individual compound events with Verma and Jyothi set to compete in their respective quarter-finals on Saturday (25).
Ankita Bhakat is also in the fray in the recurve competition and she will appear in her last-eight match on Sunday (26).
