Meet Radhika Merchant, the businesswoman Mukesh Ambani's younger son Anant got engaged to

Anant Ambani, the younger son of Reliance Industries Limited (RIL) chairman Mukesh Ambani, on Thursday (29) got engaged to Radhika Merchant, the daughter of industrialist Viren Merchant, CEO of pharmaceutical manufacturing firm Encore Healthcare.

The occasion saw the traditional 'roka' ceremony held at Shrinathji Temple in Nathdwara in the north-western state of Rajasthan.

Parimal Nathwani, director -- corporate affairs, RIL, tweeted to congratulate the couple.

In June, Mukesh Ambani and his entrepreneur wife Nita Ambani hosted the 'arangetram' ceremony of Radhika at the Jio World Centre in Mumbai, India's financial capital where the Ambanis reside. 'Arangetram' is a dancer's completion of their formal training in classical dance. Radhika is a trained Bharatnatyam dancer.

Anant, 27, and Radhika know each other for a few years and Thursday's ceremony marked the formal journey of their marriage which would happen soon.

Both families sought blessings and good wishes of everyone for the duo'

Anant has studied at Brown University in the US and served in Reliance industries in various capacities, including as a member on the Boards of Jio Platforms and Reliance Retail Ventures.

Presently, he leads the energy business of RIL.

Radhika is a graduate of New York University where she studied politics and economics and is a director on the board of Encore Healthcare. In the past, shas worked at the private luxury villas chain Isprava.
