Indian-American gynecologists couple receive Global Healthcare Innovation Awards in Bangkok

Well-known gynecological surgeon Dr. Mukesh Bavishi and his wife and colleague, Dr. Vidula Mukesh Bavishi, have received the Global Healthcare Innovation Awards 2026 at an international ceremony in Bangkok.

The event took place at the Crystal Ball Room of the Holiday Inn on August 22 and brought together more than 45 award recipients from 23 countries, including India, the United States, the United Kingdom, France, Brazil, the Philippines, Malaysia, Indonesia, Vietnam, Singapore, China and the United Arab Emirates.

The Bavishis were recognized for their work in innovative gynecological surgical techniques and infertility treatments.

The awards were presented by Korn Dabbaransi, former Deputy Prime Minister of Thailand.

The doctors described the recognition as an acknowledgment not only of their individual work but also of their medical team and the patients who have placed their trust in them.

Bavishi credits team, patients and mentors

During his acceptance speech, Dr. Mukesh Bavishi said he and his wife were accepting the honor on behalf of their team and patients.

He expressed gratitude to his parents, teachers, medical college mentors and his wife, Dr. Vidula Bavishi, whom he described as a constant source of support throughout their professional journey.

He also thanked the organizers, the TIAF, for recognizing their work and helping broaden the visibility of innovations in healthcare.

"For us, this international honour means a lot," Bavishi said in his speech, emphasizing the dedication of their team and the confidence patients have shown in their work.

Outlook

Focus on infertility and gynecological surgery

Bavishi also spoke about the personal significance of helping couples who have struggled with infertility.

He recalled cases in which couples who had been unable to conceive for many years became pregnant following what he described as relatively simple and inexpensive treatment approaches.

For the doctors, he said, such patient outcomes represent the most meaningful form of recognition.

"The best reward is always a smile in gratitude by our patient," he said, referring to patients who return after successfully conceiving.

Bavishi also highlighted his previous professional recognition, including national and international awards, and said he has developed surgical techniques in the field of gynecology.

According to the doctors, the Bangkok honor brings his total to eight international awards.

Representing India and the United States

The Bavishis said they were proud to represent both India and the United States while receiving the international recognition.

Dr. Bavishi also congratulated the other award recipients from around the world and expressed his hope that their work would continue to receive recognition in the future.
