Nick Jonas may be an international pop star, but when it comes to Bollywood celebrity news, he says he's the one keeping wife Priyanka Chopra in the loop.
During the Tuesday (14) episode of the Hey Jonas podcast, the couple shared a lighthearted conversation about Nick's surprising habit of following Bollywood gossip. Priyanka admitted that despite spending years in India's film industry, it is often her husband who tells her about celebrity breakups and the latest entertainment buzz.
"It is true though. He knows stuff even I don’t know. I don’t know when someone’s broken up with someone, and you’re always the one to tell me," Priyanka said.
She laughed while recalling moments when she unknowingly asked Nick to pass along her regards to celebrity couples, only to learn they were no longer together.
"And he's like, 'No, they've broken up.' And I'm like, 'Oh, thank you'."
Nick's brothers, Kevin and Joe Jonas, couldn't resist teasing him about his apparent expertise in Bollywood gossip. Kevin jokingly wondered whether Nick simply walks into a room announcing the latest celebrity headlines before asking where he gets all of his information.
Nick laughed but declined to reveal his sources.
"I can't say names. These are friends of ours."
Pressed further, the singer admitted he quietly keeps up with a handful of Bollywood gossip pages online.
"There's a couple of accounts that I kind of ghost-follow. I'm not going to say which ones," he said.
Joe compared the anonymous accounts to DeuxMoi, the popular celebrity gossip platform known for publishing anonymous entertainment tips and rumors.
Agreeing with the comparison, Nick explained why he enjoys following the posts.
"Yeah. There's some good tea though. There are all these storylines you've got to follow," he said.
Priyanka jokingly interrupted the conversation before it went any further.
"Oh my God, don't get me into trouble."
Nick quickly clarified that he wasn't referring to any specific celebrities.
"No, you're not getting in trouble. But generally, the culture is just different."
The podcast also gave fans a nostalgic look back at how the couple's relationship first began.
Priyanka joined Nick, Joe, and Kevin Jonas as they revisited the first direct messages she and Nick exchanged on X, formerly Twitter, long before they started dating.
According to Nick, the conversation began after Kevin asked whether he had watched Priyanka's television series Quantico. Although he hadn't seen the show at the time, he later noticed her on a promotional billboard and decided to send her a message.
Joe and Kevin dramatically read Nick's first message aloud.
"Hello. I've heard from a few people that we should meet. I have to agree with these people. Are you in LA anytime soon?"
Priyanka responded by suggesting they move the conversation to a more private platform.
"Hey. Graham's told me so much about you. Let's text. More private. My team can access this."
As the exchange was read back to them, both Nick and Priyanka laughed, cringed, and appeared slightly embarrassed while Joe and Kevin playfully recreated the moment.
That first conversation took place nearly a year and a half before the pair officially began dating in 2018. They married later that year and are now parents to their daughter, Malti Marie Chopra Jonas, whose arrival added a new chapter to one of entertainment's most widely followed love stories.
