WOMEN in her family have generally seen their sons making names in the political field. But Priyanka Gandhi Vadra, general secretary of the All India Congress Committee, recently praised her son for not making a name in politics but photography.

On Monday (12), the 49-year-old politician posted on her Instagram post three photographs from her son and elder child Raihan Rajiv Vadra’s debut photography exhibition ‘Dark Perception: An exposition of Light, Space and Time’ at Delhi’s Bikaner House on Sunday (11). It was the first solo exhibition for the 20-year-old.

“Proud of my boy for finding his own path, for working hard towards his goals and basically for being such a sweetheart!” Vadra wrote on Instagram. “His first exhibition, ‘Dark Perception: An exposition of Light, Space and Time’ is currently on at Bikaner House, New Delhi up to the 17th of July,” she added.

The Congress leader shared two photos with her son, taken during the opening of the exhibition. The third showed a banner designed for the exhibition. Raihan, the son of Priyanka Gandhi Vadra and her husband Robert Vadra, is a passionate photographer whose page on Instagram has more than 12,000 followers.

Vadra’s post got several thousands of ‘likes’ and tons of comments from those who congratulated her son’s exhibition debut.

In an interview with Open Magazine in the past, Vadra had said that his passion for photography began when he was just eight and he accompanied his mother to the jungles as she wrote her book ‘Ranthambhore: The Tiger’s Realm’.

Raihan’s photography work has also featured Ranthambhore and its tigers and he had once called it his “favourite place” in an Instagram post.
