Tharoor’s playful birthday tribute
Shah Rukh Khan turned 60 on Sunday, and one of the most attention-grabbing birthday wishes came from Indian politician Shashi Tharoor. In a light-hearted post on X, Tharoor joked that Khan appears to be “aging in reverse”, drawing a parallel to Brad Pitt’s character in The Curious Case of Benjamin Button.
Tharoor suggested, tongue-in-cheek, that fact-checkers would struggle to confirm the actor’s age. He cited Khan’s lack of visible grey hair, youthful appearance and sustained energy as “evidence” that the birthday milestone might be a “cover-up”.
‘Benjamin Button in real life’
Continuing the playful tone, Tharoor said Khan’s “energy levels today seem higher than they were 20 years ago” and that his appearance is getting younger with time. He even joked that by the time Khan reaches his seventies, he might audition for teenage roles.
The 2008 film The Curious Case of Benjamin Button, directed by David Fincher, featured Brad Pitt as a man who grows younger instead of older.
What’s next for Shah Rukh Khan
Khan is currently gearing up for King, an action film directed by Siddharth Anand. The film features Khan alongside Abhishek Bachchan, Deepika Padukone and Suhana Khan.
The actor’s 60th birthday sparked celebrations across the industry and social media, with Tharoor’s witty message standing out for its playful take on the star’s enduring screen presence and charisma.
