  • Yash and Kiara Advani's first on-screen pairing explores a passionate, forbidden romance
  • Fans have praised the song's cinematic visuals, Vishal Mishra's vocals, and the lead pair's chemistry

Rather than introducing audiences to a conventional love story, the first song from Toxic: A Fairy Tale for Grown-Ups leans into a darker, more emotionally charged romance. Released on Tuesday, Tabaahi pairs Yash and Kiara Advani for the first time, presenting a relationship shaped by longing, secrecy, and intensity instead of traditional fairy-tale ideals.

The music video has quickly become one of the film's biggest talking points, with viewers praising its atmospheric storytelling and the chemistry between its lead stars.

A romance built on longing and mystery

Before the song's release, the makers teased fans with a cryptic exchange on social media, asking Kiara Advani, "What do you call a forbidden love that only exists in stolen time?" Her one-word reply—"Tabaahi"—set the tone for what followed.

The four-minute music video opens with a quote by 13th-century Persian poet Rumi before unfolding through rain-soaked embraces, late-night drives, quiet glances, and carnival scenes that hint at a love story carrying emotional weight.

Rather than relying on grand declarations, the visuals focus on fleeting moments between the two characters, reinforcing the film's darker romantic themes.

Yash and Kiara's first collaboration draws praise

Tabaahi marks the first time Yash and Kiara Advani have shared the screen, and their pairing has generated strong reactions online.

Fans described their chemistry as "electric," while many praised the song's visual style, calling each frame cinematic and immersive. Others pointed to Kiara's screen presence and Yash's rugged new look as standout elements of the video.

Vishal Mishra leads the soundtrack

The song is composed and performed by Vishal Mishra, with Hindi lyrics written by Raj Shekhar.

In addition to Hindi, Tabaahi has been released in Kannada, Telugu, Tamil, and Malayalam as part of the film's multilingual rollout.

Directed by Geethu Mohandas, Toxic: A Fairy Tale for Grown-Ups stars Yash, Kiara Advani, Nayanthara, Tara Sutaria, Rukmini Vasanth, and Huma Qureshi.

The film was shot in Kannada and English before being dubbed into multiple Indian languages. It is scheduled to open in theaters worldwide on August 26, 2026.
