- HCLTech will establish a dedicated business unit and center of excellence.
- The companies will develop industry-specific solutions using Anthropic products, including Claude and Claude Code.
- The partnership will focus on AI safety, cybersecurity and governance.
Indian IT services company HCLTech signed a partnership with Anthropic on Monday to accelerate enterprise adoption of agentic artificial intelligence (AI), focusing on safety, cybersecurity and governance.
Under the agreement, HCLTech will establish a dedicated business unit and center of excellence to develop agentic AI solutions. Its teams will build industry-specific applications and integrate Anthropic products, including Claude, Cowork and Claude Code.
Agentic AI systems can plan and execute tasks with varying degrees of human oversight, offering businesses potential applications across software development and enterprise workflows. However, their adoption also raises questions around data security, governance and the level of human supervision required.
HCLTech, India's third-largest IT services company, was scheduled to announce its second-quarter results later on Monday.
