Actor Hugh Jackman on Saturday (24) reacted to the emotional speech that tennis maestro Roger Federer made after playing his final competitive game and said the Swiss was "one of a kind" and "extraordinary man".
The 53-year-old Australian born actor said after Federer spoke at the end of the match in Laver Cup in London, "My friend. Congratulations! I saw your speech last night. You are one of a kind. An extraordinary man - who has gracefully shown humility to all around you.
I hope you can take in the gratitude that millions and millions, including me, have for you. HJ"
Jackman said this to one of the tennis legend's posts on Instagram.
The actor, who also told the sportsperson that he "left an unmistakable, unrivaled imprint on the sport of tennis", was once forced to climb 15 floors because of Federer.
It happened after the tennis player had invited professional tennis players and celebrities from across the world to display their own home-training routines in 2002. The 'Wolverine' actor was among the invitees and he climbed 15 flights of stairs.
“Roger, I loved those trickshots! Unfortunately, we don’t have tennis courts at our place in New York City. But we have something you guys don’t have, which is a lot of these (filming the stairs). 15 floors, baby!” Jackman later said in a video.
Federer responded to Jackman taking up the challenge.
“Wolverine is always in beast mode. 15 floors, babeh!” Federer wrote on Instagram.
