Growing India-US partnership takes center stage as Ambassador Kwatra, Congressman Huizenga meet

India’s Ambassador to the US Vinay Mohan Kwatra met Republican Congressman Bill Huizenga and highlighted deepening cooperation between the two countries in energy security, defense, trade and technology, as well as growing exchanges on regional issues.

THE INDIA-US partnership was in focus as Ambassador Vinay Mohan Kwatra met Republican Congressman Bill Huizenga, with the two discussing progress in key areas including energy security, defense, trade and technology.

The meeting also covered regional issues, as Kwatra briefed Huizenga on India’s efforts to diversify its sources of energy supply and the growing exchanges between the two countries.


“Had a useful conversation with Congressman @RepHuizenga, Chairman of the Sub-Committee on South and Central Asia, House Foreign Affairs Committee,” Kwatra said in a post on X on Tuesday.

The Indian Ambassador exchanged views with Huizenga on recent progress and other developments affecting the India-US partnership, including defense, trade and technology cooperation.

“Briefed him on our deepening cooperation in the energy security domain including diversification of sources of supply, and our growing exchanges on regional issues. Thanked him for lending his weight to the bipartisan support in Congress for the relationship,” Kwatra said.
