A pro-Khalistan protester was detained by police after allegedly breaching security and rushing onto the stage during Punjabi singer and actor Diljit Dosanjh’s concert in San Francisco, California, over the weekend.

Videos of the incident quickly spread across social media. The footage shows the man making his way onto the stage before security personnel and law enforcement officers stepped in.

The disruption took place during Dosanjh’s sold-out Aura World Tour performance at San Francisco’s Chase Center. The concert was one of two back-to-back shows scheduled at the venue.

Videos circulating online show the individual climbing onto the stage area before being restrained and escorted away.

Additional footage shared on social media appears to show the man being detained by police officers while concertgoers watched from the audience.

According to social media posts, the individual was removed from the venue and later taken into police custody.

The incident briefly interrupted the concert but did not stop the performance. The show continued after authorities handled the situation.

The San Francisco disruption comes after several incidents involving pro-Khalistan activists at Dosanjh’s international concerts in recent months.

In April, a concert during the singer’s Aura 2026 tour in Canada was briefly disrupted when a group of supporters reportedly raised pro-Khalistan slogans and displayed separatist flags inside the venue.

Reports said security personnel intervened and removed the protesters, allowing the concert to continue.

In a separate incident at a concert in Calgary, videos showed Dosanjh pausing his performance after noticing pro-Khalistan flags in the crowd.

The singer reportedly objected to efforts to politicize the event and urged attendees not to turn a music concert into a platform for political messaging.

Dosanjh has also faced threats from extremist elements in the past.

Reports in 2025 stated that the pro-Khalistan group Sikhs for Justice (SFJ) had threatened to disrupt one of his concerts in Australia over remarks and actions they opposed.

The latest incident in San Francisco has once again drawn attention to disruptions at some of the singer’s overseas performances.

Meanwhile, an IANS report citing Khalsa Vox argued that Khalistani extremism has harmed the image of the largely law-abiding Sikh diaspora living in countries such as Canada, the United States, and the United Kingdom.

Despite the brief interruption in San Francisco, Dosanjh’s concert continued, and the event proceeded after the protester was removed by security personnel and police.
