Aeroplane gets stuck under bridge in India’s Bihar; WATCH

Officials said the incident happened as the driver of the truck carrying the scrapped aircraft misjudged the bridge’s height and thought he could pass without any hindrance.

BIZARRE scenes unfolded in Motihari in the northern Indian state of Bihar on Friday (29) when an aeroplane got stuck under a bridge, causing a massive traffic snarl!

The incident happened when the aircraft, a scrapped one, was being transported from Mumbai in western India to the state of Assam in north-eastern India on a truck. The plane got stuck under an overbridge, throwing the local traffic out of gear.

The plane soon became a point of attraction as local people gathered to witness the unusual situation and click pictures.

A video of the incident went viral on social media. It showed pedestrians and motorists in the city in northern Bihar trying to find an alternative to reach their destination as the huge plane blocked the road, which is a part of National Highway 27 that connects western and eastern parts of India.

Officials said the incident happened as the driver of the truck carrying the aircraft misjudged the bridge’s height and thought he could pass without any hindrance.

The truck and the plane were safely extricated and they left for the destination.

In November last year, a similar incident had taken place in the southern state of Andhra Pradesh when an airplane got stuck on the underpass of a road. The used aircraft was being transported to be converted into an aeroplane restaurant.
