  • Akshay Kumar has made it clear that retirement is nowhere on his horizon. The actor, known for his disciplined work ethic and packed schedule, spoke about the subject during the trailer launch event of Welcome To The Jungle in Mumbai on Thursday.

When asked whether he had ever thought about retiring, Akshay responded with a humorous take on what life after work could look like. Imagining a future without films, he joked, "Retire ho gaya toh main ghar pe baith ke electrician ka kaam karunga, main dog walker ban jaunga, gardener ban jaunga, ghar ke saare kaam mujhe milenge. Mujhe lagta hai usse achha main kaam pe jaun aur retire na hoon."

His witty response drew laughter from the audience, but the actor continued the light-hearted exchange when someone suggested that retirement would at least allow him to spend more time with his family.

Akshay replied, "Main unke saath baithta hoon, doosre din woh bolte hain aap kaam pe jao," prompting another round of laughter.

Beyond the jokes, the actor also shared his personal philosophy on work and life. Stressing that he does not believe in stepping away from work completely, Akshay said, "I hate the word 'Retire'. One should retire five minutes before dying. That is still better. I would suggest everyone to keep working."

The actor was speaking at the launch of the trailer for Welcome To The Jungle, which runs for over four minutes and presents him as a struggling actor trying to revive his career after a series of unsuccessful films. His fortunes appear to change when he lands a new project opposite a successful actress, played by Jacqueline Fernandez.

However, the shoot soon takes an unexpected turn when the film crew reaches a village near the border. The villagers mistake the actors for real soldiers and seek their help against a dangerous gang led by Jackie Shroff. The confusion leads to a series of comic situations, with Akshay's character repeatedly insisting that he is merely an actor and not a real-life hero.

One of the standout elements of the trailer is the chemistry between Akshay Kumar, Suniel Shetty and Paresh Rawal. The film also features a large ensemble cast including Disha Patani, Jacqueline Fernandez, Arshad Warsi, Jackie Shroff, Raveena Tandon, Lara Dutta, Farida Jalal, Johny Lever, Shreyas Talpade, Tusshar Kapoor, Rajpal Yadav, Krushna Abhishek, Kiku Sharda, Daler Mehndi, Aftab Shivdasani, Mukesh Tiwari, Yashpal Sharma, Kiran Kumar, Zakir Hussain, Vindu Dara Singh and Urvashi Rautela.

Welcome To The Jungle is scheduled to arrive in theatres on June 26.
