Ana de Armas has addressed growing speculation about her relationship with Hollywood icon Tom Cruise, finally shedding light on the romance rumors that have surrounded the pair since early this year. In a revealing interview on “Good Morning America” on Thursday (15), the Ballerina star gushed over Cruise and confirmed that they are working closely together on multiple upcoming projects.
The 37-year-old actress, best known for her roles in Knives Out and Blonde, was on the morning show to promote her upcoming film From the World of John Wick: Ballerina. However, conversation naturally turned to Cruise after months of buzz about their growing closeness. When host Michael Strahan asked about the nature of their collaboration, de Armas replied, “We’re definitely working on a lot of things — not just one, but a few projects with Doug Liman, Christopher McQuarrie, and of course, Tom. And I’m so excited.”
The duo first sparked rumors of a budding romance after being seen dining together in London’s Soho in February. They were later spotted arriving via helicopter at London Heliport in March and seen attending events together, including a discreet exit from David Beckham’s star-studded 50th birthday party in May. Despite trying to avoid paparazzi by hiding under umbrellas and ducking into cars, their public appearances have only fueled rumors.
While initial reports suggested the pair were just friends meeting for professional reasons, a new source told Us Weekly that Cruise has developed “feelings” for the Cuban-Spanish actress. “They’ve gone out on some dates, and it’s very low-key. It’s still early, but he’s definitely smitten and courting her,” the insider shared.
Cruise, 62, has had a string of high-profile relationships over the years, including marriages to Mimi Rogers, Nicole Kidman, and Katie Holmes. He shares three children with Kidman and Holmes. Meanwhile, de Armas previously dated Ben Affleck from 2019 to 2021 and has since maintained a relatively private personal life.
Their rumored romance gained more credibility when they were seen arriving and leaving David Beckham’s birthday party together in a black Mercedes-Benz. While Cruise appeared relaxed and smiling, de Armas was noticeably camera-shy, covering her face behind the car’s passenger seat.
In a 2023 interview, de Armas expressed admiration for Cruise’s dedication to performing his own stunts. “I’m not at a Tom Cruise level yet,” she said, “but I can appreciate what he does 100% now… he’s so mind-blowing.”
Professionally, Cruise and de Armas are teaming up on several projects, including a rumored supernatural thriller titled Deeper, directed by Doug Liman, with whom Cruise previously collaborated on Edge of Tomorrow and American Made. Christopher McQuarrie, Cruise’s longtime creative partner from the Mission: Impossible series, is also reportedly involved.
Whether romance is truly in the air or just part of Hollywood’s mystique, one thing is certain — Ana de Armas and Tom Cruise are becoming one of the most talked-about pairs of 2025, both on and off screen.
