IN India, they call cricket a religion and there are countless examples to back this claim.

Virat Kohli, one of the greatest the game has produced in modern times, is going through the worst phase of his career and patience is slowly running out at different quarters with people asking for the former India captain’s exclusion from the side.

But there are still several voices that trust in Kohli’s capabilities to again become the run machine that he was once. The 33-year-old is not scoring enough runs in the ongoing tour of England and also missed the first one-day international at the Oval because of a groin injury. The man was reportedly doubtful for the second game at Lord’s on Thursday (14) but he eventually was picked in the playing XI.

Meanwhile, Kohli’s passionate fans were eagerly praying to see him return to form and resume blasting the international hundreds as he used to do once with ease.

On Thursday, one picture went viral on social media platform Twitter that showed a die-hard fan of Kohli distributing food packets among hungry people and children so that his wish of Kohli hitting his 71st international century became a reality soon.

Kohli, who was once on track to eclipse legendary Sachin Tendulkar’s record of a hundred international hundreds, hit his last — the 70th — more than two years ago.

Will the gods listen to his fan’s prayer soon?
