Former Infosys president Ravi Kumar S, who stepped down from the information technology (IT) giant last week, is set to join Cognizant on January 16, 2023, as the president of Cognizant Americas.
In a filing with the stock exchanges last week, Infosys said, “The board of directors placed on record their deep sense of appreciation for the services rendered by Ravi Kumar S. for his contributions to the company.”
Moneycontrol said citing sources that Kumar’s appointment as the president could see him becoming the chief executive officer of Cognizant in the future.
“Kumar, who has over 20 years of experience in the consulting, process and technology transformation space, joins Cognizant from Infosys where he was previously president,” Cognizant said, according to a Moneycontrol report.
Kumar, a former deputy chief operating officer of Infosys, led the Infosys Global Services Organisation across all industry segments at the time of resignation. He was behind digital transformation, traditional technology, engineering, data and analytics, etc.
Cognizant also announced the appointment of Prasad Sankaran as the new head of the software & platform engineering practice area. He will join on November 1.
