INDIA will play six white-ball matches against England in July next year, the England and Wales Cricket Board on Wednesday (8) announced as it unveiled its international home fixtures for 2022.
The Asian side is currently touring England for a five-match Test series which it is leading 2-1 after clinching a memorable 157-run victory at the Oval. The final Test will begin at Old Trafford on September 10. The current tour of the Indian side doesn’t include any limited-over match. Next year, it will only be a white-ball affair as England will play against India, followed by South Africa.

As per the schedule released by the English board, India will play three Twenty20 International matches starting at Old Trafford on July 1, followed by those at Trent Bridge (July 3) and Ageas Bowl (July 6).
The T20Is will be followed by a three-match one-day international (ODI) series starting at Edgbaston on July 9. The second and third matches will be played at the Oval on July 12 and Lord’s on July 14.
India beat England by 157 runs to go 2-1 up in series
England will begin their 2022 home summer with a three-match Test series against current world Test champions New Zealand. The matches will be played at Lord’s, Trent Bridge and Emerald Headingley between June 2 and 27.
ECB chief executive officer Tom Harrison, said: “It has been a scintillating summer of cricket and so good to see crowds back packing out venues later this summer. For next summer, I am pleased to be able to confirm three high-quality men's international touring teams for 2022, starting with a three-Test LV= Insurance Series against World Test champions New Zealand.”
Speaking on the India series, he said, “We also look forward to India returning for two white-ball series before we host South Africa for what promises to be a hard-fought series across three formats, including three Test Matches.”
England and India have played 19 T20I matches so far with India leading 10-9. In the ODIs, India lead 55-43 out of 103 matches. Two have been tied while three matches had no result.
