THE start-up ecosystem of Telangana, a southern Indian state, is now ranked among the top 10 global ecosystems and No.4 Asian ecosystem in affordable talent, a recent report has said.

The 2022 Global Startup Ecosystem Report (GSER) by Startup Genome, which was launched in London Tech Week this week, said the start-ups in Telangana are among the top 20 global start-ups in different categories, Telangana Today reported.

Telangana, which is the youngest state in India with age below 10, is also among the top 20 Asian ecosystems in terms of knowledge, which measures innovation through research and patent activity, the report added.

The state is also among the top 25 Asian ecosystems and top 15 Asian emerging ecosystems in terms of performance that evaluates the value created by tech start-ups from funding and exits, the Telangana Today report added.

The report mentioned that Telangana’s startup ecosystem created value worth $4.8 billion between July 1, 2019, and December 31, 2021. It said access to talent and policy incentives are reasons why Telangana is among the top destinations of start-ups.
