A 25-YEAR-OLD handicapped man, who was declared dead by doctors at a hospital in Rajasthan's Jhunjhunu district, regained consciousness moments before his cremation.
The district administration has suspended three doctors for medical negligence.
The person, identified as Rohitash Kumar, was deaf and mute. He was an orphan and lived in a shelter home.
He was taken to the BDK Hospital in Jhunjhunu on Thursday after he fell unconscious at the shelter home.
Kumar was admitted to the emergency ward and the doctors declared him dead at 2 pm, after failed to respond to the treatment.
The body was kept in the mortuary for two hours and after completing legal formalities the police transported the body to a crematorium.
However, as the body was placed on the pyre, Kumar started breathing, the police said.
They immediately called an ambulance and brought him back to the hospital.
Taking note of the alleged medical negligence, Jhunjhunu District Collector Ramavtar Meena suspended Dr Yogesh Jakhar, Dr Navneet Meel and PMO Dr Sandeep Pachar on Thursday night. (PTI)
