Mohanlal and filmmaker Anoop Sathyan are teaming up for the first time for L368, with the film’s first look offering a glimpse of an unusual setting.
The poster features Mohanlal seated between two young girls beside a coastal road. Origami cranes can also be seen in the image, adding a distinctive touch to the reveal.
The project was formally launched with a pooja and switch-on ceremony attended by the film’s cast and crew. It marks Anoop’s return to direction after six years.
Mohanlal reflects on his long association with Sathyan Anthikad
At the launch event, Mohanlal spoke about his longstanding relationship with Anoop’s father, filmmaker Sathyan Anthikad. The actor recalled working with him from his early career through to his most recent film.
Mohanlal said he hoped the new project would turn out well and joked that he was an actor who simply performed what the director asked him to do.
Sathyan Anthikad also shared a childhood memory that highlighted Anoop’s admiration for Mohanlal. He recalled that Anoop would become upset for two days whenever his father said the actor would not feature in his next film.
On one occasion, Anoop even said he would go to Mohanlal’s house after an argument with his father. Years later, he is now getting the opportunity to direct the actor himself.
What we know about L368
Anoop Sathyan has written the story and screenplay and is also handling the editing. The film is jointly produced by Binu George Alexander, known for Balti, and Aashirvad Cinemas.
Jakes Bejoy is composing the music, while Shahnad Jalal is handling cinematography. Prashanth Madhav is the art director, Anil Radhakrishnan is in charge of sound, and Sujith is the costume designer.
The launch ceremony was attended by Mohanlal, his wife Suchitra Mohanlal, Sathyan Anthikad, Anoop Sathyan, Antony Perumbavoor, Mukesh, Tovino Thomas and Sangeeth Prathap, among others.
Further details about the film, including its title and release plans, are yet to be announced.
