While Newcastle's deal to sign Alexander Isak, who plays as a striker for La Liga club Real Sociedad, is at the final stage, Chelsea's Conor Gallagher is also on their radar.
According to an exclusive report by CaughtOffSide, the Magpies may need to find another striker in the remaining days of the transfer window as Callum Wilson has sustained yet another injury.

While the 30-year-old is a force when he is fit, his injury has put Newcastle with a limited option in Chris Wood when it comes to attacking.
According to Fabrizio Romano, one of the world's most renowned sources for football-transfer news, a deal to acquire Isak is in the final stages for a record fee of €70 million.
“Newcastle United’s deal for Alexander Isak is at the final stages. The final details are now discussed while Isak landed in England last night. He will cost a club-record fee of €70m, with add-ons included plus sell-on clause. It will also be a record sale for Real Sociedad,” Romano, told CaughtOffside via his Substack column.
Newcastle are also interested in Gallagher but Chelsea manager Thomas Tuchel might look to keep him back after he started in their recent Premier League match, the report said.
“Conor Gallagher has always been a top target for Newcastle but any move will depend on Thomas Tuchel, who has had a major role in transfers this summer. I was also recently informed that Gallagher’s preference was to stay at Chelsea, while Everton were interested earlier in the summer,” Romano added.
A loan move may benefit Gallagher, particularly if Chelsea plan about bringing in another midfielder before the window shuts.
Newcastle are currently placed at No.6 in the Premier League points table with five points from three games that saw one win and two draws.
