French astrologer Nostradamus, known for his cryptic prophecies, is believed to have foretold Pope Francis’ death and his successor centuries ago. Nostradamus, often called the “prophet of doom,” has been credited with predicting major world events, including the Great Fire of London, Hitler’s rise, 9/11, and the COVID-19 pandemic.
In his 1555 book Les Prophéties, Nostradamus wrote, “Through the death of a very old Pontiff… a Roman of good age will be elected. Of him, it will be said that he weakens his see… but long will he sit and in biting activity.” He also mentioned, “In the final persecution of the Holy Roman Church, there will sit Peter the Roman… the city of seven hills will be destroyed.”
As Pope Francis remains hospitalized due to lung complications and kidney insufficiency, his condition remains critical. The 88-year-old’s fragile health has raised concerns about the Vatican’s future leadership. Cardinal Timothy Dolan recently acknowledged the Pope’s delicate state, calling on Catholics to pray for him.
While Nostradamus’ predictions remain open to interpretation, his reference to an aging pope’s passing and the rise of a new leader has fueled speculation. Whether his prophecy will come true remains uncertain, but the world watches closely as Pope Francis battles for his health.
