A SEQUEL to the upcoming action comedy "Wolfs," featuring George Clooney and Brad Pitt, is currently in development.
This news comes as the film prepares for its out-of-competition premiere at the Venice International Film Festival. "Wolfs" is slated for a limited theatrical release in the United States on September 20, with its streaming debut scheduled for September 27 on Apple TV+.
The original "Wolfs" represents the first on-screen pairing of Clooney and Pitt since their collaboration in the 2008 film "Burn After Reading."
In "Wolfs," the two actors portray fixers who find themselves inadvertently working on the same job.
The Hollywood Reporter has disclosed that Jon Watts, known for his work on the "Spider-Man" trilogy, is set to write and direct the sequel under a deal with Apple.
As of now, it is unclear whether George Clooney and Brad Pitt have formal agreements to reprise their roles in the sequel. The film is produced by Clooney's production company Smokehouse Productions and Pitt's Plan B Entertainment.
The cast of the original film also includes Amy Ryan, Austin Abrams, Poorna Jagannathan, Richard Kind, and Zlatko Buric. Jon Watts and McGunigle are attached as producers, alongside Clooney, Grant Heslov, Pitt, Dede Gardner, and Jeremy Kleiner.
Michael Beugg is credited as the executive producer.
Additionally, Clooney and Pitt previously worked together in Steven Soderbergh’s "Ocean's" trilogy, which includes "Ocean's Eleven" (2001), "Ocean's Twelve" (2004), and "Ocean's Thirteen" (2007).
