AMERICAN singer and actress Mary Millben on Sunday (3) spoke on the victory of India's ruling Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) led by prime minister Narendra Modi in three crucial state elections saying it was a precursor to a strong win for the Indian leader in the general elections of 2024. The 41-year-old leader also called Modi a 'India First' candidate and the best leader for the relationship between India and the US.
This is not the first time that the Oklahoma-born African-American celebrity has eulogised Modi. Last month, she had said that the former stands for women and the "best leader" that India ever got. She had also said then that the Indian leader is the best for not only India-US ties and global economic stability. In June, she was also seen touching Modi's feet when he was in the US on a state visit and also singing 'Jana Gana Mana', India's national anthem.
In September, when India hosted the G20 summit in New Delhi under the chairmanship of Modi, Millben lauded the Indian leader for his proposal to include the African Union in the G20 grouping.
"I applaud prime minister Narendra Modi's proposal to include the African Union as a full member of the G20. The Global South can now shape policies impacting our world," she had said in a video message.
