Alia brings vintage glamour to Dubai
Alia Bhatt delivered a standout fashion moment in Dubai on November 12, stepping onto the red carpet in a vintage Bob Mackie creation. The couple arrived in the UAE just hours after departing Mumbai, drawing immediate attention as images from the event circulated online.
The nude-toned gown featured a silk base overlaid with detailed pearl and bead embroidery that curved across the bodice and skirt. The pattern, arranged in sweeping flame-like bands, added movement and depth to the design. Long sleeves with a sheer lining, a sculpted neckline, and a dramatic leg slit completed the look.
Alia paired the gown with pointed gold heels, diamond earrings, gold-toned makeup, and a sleek bun, leaning into the old-Hollywood feel of the ensemble.
A closer look at the couture details
Bob Mackie’s signature craftsmanship was evident throughout the gown. The garment combined pearls, ivory sequins, white and silver beads, and rhinestones to create a textured, sculptural effect. The fitted silhouette, cinched waist, and curved wrap-style skirt added structure while highlighting the intricate embellishment.
The result was a bold, archival piece that balanced glamour with a contemporary edge, an aesthetic Mackie is known for.
Ranbir Kapoor’s polished counterpart
Ranbir Kapoor matched the evening’s elegance in a dark blue velvet tuxedo jacket, styled with a crisp white shirt and black trousers. He completed the look with shiny black shoes and blue-tinted glasses, offering a subtle but stylish complement to Alia’s standout gown.
