While the world debates whether former US president Donald Trump would be back on Twitter after a high-profile takeover of the social media giant recently by Elon Musk, something else has left the netizens surprised.
Days after Musk took over Twitter, the account of American actress Amber Heard was found to be non-existent.
Though the timing of Heard's exit from the micro-blogging site was not clear, multiple users on Thursday (3) took note that the 36-year-old's account @realamberheard was deactivated. A screen on the page reads "This account doesn't exist".
Heard has more than five million followers on Instagram where her recent-most post is her June 1 statement following the verdict in her high-profile Virginia defamation case with former husband Johnny Depp.
Heard's representative did not respond to a request for a comment on the matter, PEOPLE reported.
A representative for Musk, 51, said he and Heard, who had broken up in August 2017, "didn't start seeing each other until May 2016, and even then it was infrequent. Their relationship didn't become romantic until some time later", PEOPLE added.
Musk briefly dated Heard following her split with Depp. The former, who recently bought Twitter and became its chief executive, wrote to advertisers days before the takeover saying he didn't want the platform to "become a free-for-all hellscape, where everything can be said with no consequences!"
In December 2018, Heard told The Hollywood Reporter, "Elon and I had a beautiful relationship, and we have a beautiful friendship now, one that was based on our core values. Intellectual curiosity, ideas and conversation, a shared love for science. We just bonded on a lot of things that speak to who I am on the inside. I have so much respect for him."
While many celebrities have been deleting their accounts after Musk's acquisition of Twitter, netizens speculate whether the past affair between Musk and Heard has something to do with the disappearance of the latter's profile.
