Coldplay’s frontman Chris Martin and his fiancée, Hollywood actress Dakota Johnson, recently made headlines in India—not just for their sold-out concerts but also for their spiritual journey. The couple was spotted at Mahakumbh 2025 in Prayagraj, where they took part in the sacred ritual of bathing at the Triveni Sangam, the confluence of the Ganga, Yamuna, and the mythical Saraswati rivers.
A viral video shared by a fan on Instagram captured this intimate moment. The fan, who was also present for a holy dip, expressed his amazement, writing, “When you can’t go to the concert, the artist comes to you—at Kumbh Mela! Took a Sangam Snan with none other than Coldplay’s Chris Martin and Dakota, who followed every ritual with deep respect. Music unites, but faith transcends. Har Har Mahadev!”
In the footage, Chris Martin, dressed in black shorts, can be seen standing in the river with his eyes closed in prayer, before greeting devotees with folded hands. Dakota Johnson, wearing a traditional kurta and trousers, also immersed herself in the spiritual experience.
Martin was in India for Coldplay’s Music of the Spheres World Tour, which made history with record-breaking attendance at his Ahmedabad concerts. Reports suggest that Coldplay’s tour has now surpassed Taylor Swift’s Eras Tour as the most-attended concert tour of all time.
