The European Union (EU) has imposed tariffs on imports of cold-rolled flat stainless steel products from India and Indonesia after an investigation found that they were being sold at prices artificially lowered, Reuters reported.

The European Commission, which conducted the probe, has set duties of 10.2 per cent for IRNC, Indonesia, and 20.2 per cent for other Indonesian producers, the EU’s official journal on Thursday (18) said.

The rates for India, on the other hand, are 13.9 per cent for Jindal Stainless Ltd and Jindal Stainless Hisar Ltd and 35.3 per cent for other producers in India.

The commission said the anti-dumping duties aim to tackle damage caused to EU producers such as Acerinox and Outokumpu, the Reuters report added.
