INDIAN business billionaire Gautam Adani, chairperson of the Adani Group, met French president Emmanuel Macron at Chateau Versailles on Tuesday (12) where they discussed global energy transition. One of the main purposes of the meeting was to talk over a new edge on energy requirement.

Adani later tweeted about his meeting with Macron, saying, “Fascinating to hear from Prez @EmmanuelMacron at Chateau Versailles. His belief in power of regional democracies and a multipolar world is indeed refreshing.”

“We are honoured to support his global energy transition agenda and India/France cooperation,” he added.

It may be mentioned here that the Adani Group inked a deal with French energy major TotalEnergies.

It was reported that TotalEnergies would buy a 25 per cent stake in the Adani New Industries Ltd (ANIL) under the deal. The India and French companies were set to create the world’s largest green hydrogen ecosystem. ANIL will also invest $50 Billion in green hydrogen, India Today reported.

ANIL also aims to invest $50 billion over a decade in green hydrogen and the associated ecosystem, the report added. Initially, it plans to develop a green-hydrogen production capacity of one million tonnes per year by the year 2030.
