Rajwinder Singh, the Indian nurse who has a million-dollar bounty on his head for allegedly killing a woman in Australia in 2018, was arrested by the Delhi Police on Friday (25).

Singh, 38, had fled to India two days after allegedly killing 24-year-old Toyah Cordingley on October 21, 2018, when she was walking her dog on Wangetti Beach, 40 kilometres north of Cairns in Queensland. He left behind his job and family, including wife and three children, Down Under.

Recently, the Queensland Police announced a one-million Australian dollar (£557,452) reward for any information on Singh, who hails from Buttan Kalan in Amritsar in the northern Indian state of Punjab. This was reportedly the largest bounty ever offered by the cops in the Australian province.

“We know that Singh departed Cairns on October 22, the day after Toyah was murdered, and then flew from Sydney to India on the 23rd. His arrival in India has been confirmed,” a Queensland Police officer was quoted as saying by Press Trust of India earlier this month.

In March last year, the Australian government had requested India for Singh’s extradition and it was approved this month, Indo-Asian News Service reported.
